Systems
- Epoxy. Self-leveling and broadcast systems with quartz or flake, for warehouses, mechanical rooms, corridors, and light manufacturing.
- Urethane cement. Thermal shock and chemical resistance for commercial kitchens, food processing, and wash-down areas where hot water and steam kill an ordinary epoxy.
- Urethane topcoats. UV stability, abrasion resistance, and the slip profile the space needs.
- Integral cove base. Cove run up the wall in the same system, so there is no seam at the floor line for water or bacteria to sit in.
Why floors fail, and what we do about it
Most resinous floor failures come from what is under the coating, not the coating itself. Moisture in the slab, a weak surface profile, or a contaminated substrate will lift the best product on the market.
- Moisture testing first. In-slab relative humidity probes per ASTM F2170, and calcium chloride per ASTM F1869 where the spec calls for it. Results go to the owner before the system is confirmed, and a moisture-mitigating primer is priced where the numbers demand it.
- Mechanical preparation. Shot blast or diamond grind to the concrete surface profile the manufacturer specifies, following ICRI guidelines. No acid etching on commercial work.
- Crack and joint detailing. Cracks routed and filled, control joints honored or filled with semi-rigid material as specified.
- Cure and return to service. Recoat windows and return-to-service times set out in the schedule up front, so the kitchen or the line knows when it can come back.
